How it works

1. Gain life.
2. Heliod triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Basking Broodscale.
3. Basking Broodscale triggers, creating a creature token and an artifact token.
4. When the artifact token enters the battlefield, Arbaaz Mir triggers, dealing 1 damage to each opponent and causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This elegant loop is fueled by Heliod, Sun-Crowned, whose passive ability turns any life gain into a +1/+1 counter for your creatures, setting our catalyst Basking Broodscale into motion. Every time Basking Broodscale receives a counter, its triggered ability spawns an Eldrazi Spawn token, which Peregrin Took cheerfully multiplies into both a Spawn and an extra Food token. Because that new artifact's entry counts as a historic permanent, Arbaaz Mir triggers to deal damage to each opponent and grant you life—which loops right back into Heliod, Sun-Crowned to start the cycle anew.
