How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding 2.
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying 1.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you turn a humble spirit into an endless engine of sacrifice and recursion. With Ashes of the Fallen set to designate "Spirit" as the universal creature type, Promised Kannushi gains the crucial property it needs to trigger its own Soulshift 7 ability upon death. When you feed Promised Kannushi to Ashnod's Altar, you generate the colorless mana needed to recast it, while the soulshift trigger plucks the card right back out of your graveyard and safely into your hand. Finally, Chromatic Orrery steps in to filter and expand your resources, allowing you to convert that raw output into infinite colored mana of any hue.
