How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding 2.
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying 1.

This clever loop transforms Promised Kannushi into a self-recurring engine, fueled by Ashnod's Altar to generate infinite colorless mana, death triggers, and storm count. The magic truly happens thanks to Conspiracy, which rewrites the rules of the game so that Promised Kannushi is treated as a Spirit card everywhere—even while sitting in your hand or graveyard—allowing its own Soulshift 7 ability to seamlessly fish itself back out of the graveyard upon dying. Finally, Chromatic Orrery ensures that your colorless mana can be freely spent as though it were any color, converting your looping energy into infinite colored mana to fuel whatever devastating payoff you need.
