How it works

1. Cast Baithook Angler from your graveyard for its disturb cost by paying 2, causing it to enter the battlefield transformed as Hook-Haunt Drifter.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Hook-Haunt Drifter, adding 2.
3. Because Overwhelming Splendor causes Hook-Haunt Drifter to lose all abilities, it is not exiled when it is sacrificed, and is returned to your graveyard as Baithook Angler.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Overwhelming Splendor to rewrite the rules of the graveyard entirely; because the enchantment strips away all abilities from creatures the enchanted player controls, Hook-Haunt Drifter loses its replacement effect that would normally exile itself upon going to the graveyard. This allows you to repeatedly cast Baithook Angler from your graveyard for its disturb cost, feed it to Ashnod's Altar for mana, and let it return safely to the graveyard to start anew. Meanwhile, Chromatic Orrery sits on the board ready to smooth out any color requirements you might need, ensuring that all the mana generated by this unholy sacrifice feeds right back into your endless cycle.
