How it works

1. Cast Traveling Plague by paying 3, attaching it to another creature you control.
2. When Traveling Plague enters, Ajani's Chosen triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing the creature Traveling Plague is attached to.
4. When the creature dies, Traveling Plague triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to the token created in step 2.
5. When Traveling Plague enters, Ajani's Chosen triggers, creating a creature token.
6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns Traveling Plague into a self-sustaining recurrence engine by exploiting its unique ability to bounce back whenever its host leaves the battlefield. While Altar of Dementia provides the necessary sacrifice outlet to send that host away and mill your opponents to dust, Ajani's Chosen acts as the catalyst that keeps the cycle moving by constantly generating fresh Cat tokens for the Aura to reattach to. As Traveling Plague repeatedly enters the battlefield and finds its new feline home, its growing pile of plague counters is reset, fueling an endless stream of entries, leaves, and sacrifices.
