How it works

1. Cast Feign Death by paying , targeting Salvager of Secrets.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Salvager of Secrets, adding .
3. When Salvager of Secrets dies, it triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. When Salvager of Secrets enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Feign Death from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms a humble graveyard returner into an infinite engine by leveraging Feign Death to save Salvager of Secrets from the executioner's block. Each time you sacrifice the Salvager to Phyrexian Altar for mana, Feign Death immediately resurrects it with a +1/+1 counter. That resurrection triggers the Salvager's own enter-the-battlefield ability to fish Feign Death right back out of your graveyard, letting you recast the spell and repeat the entire sequence indefinitely for an endless stream of sacrifices and storm count.
