How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Rakdos Carnarium.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Zuran Orb by sacrificing Rakdos Carnarium.
5. When Rakdos Carnarium dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Rakdos Carnarium from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Rakdos Carnarium enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Zuran Orb ability
8. Repeat.

This ingenious loop transforms ordinary bounce lands and cheap artifacts into an infinite engine by leveraging the passive land-type alteration of Toph, the First Metalbender. Because Toph turns your nontoken artifacts into lands, a zero-mana artifact can be repeatedly picked up off the battlefield by Rakdos Carnarium's bounce trigger when it enters. Meanwhile, Zuran Orb provides a sacrifice outlet to send Rakdos Carnarium to the graveyard, where Toph, Hardheaded Teacher capitalizes on its death to resurrect it immediately. Each iteration of this cycle is greased by casting your artifact anew, which triggers Toph, Hardheaded Teacher's earthbend ability while cycling your resources endlessly for massive storm counts and life gain.
