How it works

1. Activate Myr Welder using Coveted Jewel's ability by tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Freed from the Real by paying , untapping Myr Welder.

This elegant loop relies on Myr Welder’s ability to gain the activated traits of any artifact it has previously consumed, letting it act as a copy of Coveted Jewel once that treasure is tucked safely into exile. With Freed from the Real enchanting the metamorphosed construct, you can tap it to generate a surplus of colored mana, then use a fraction of that bounty to pay the enchantment's untap cost. Because Coveted Jewel provides three mana per tap while Freed from the Real only demands one blue mana to untap, you end up generating an infinite excess of colored mana to fuel the rest of your turn.
