How it works

1. Deal combat damage to an opponent using the creature that has Spellbinder attached.
2. Spellbinder triggers, casting a copy of Beacon of Immortality without paying its mana cost.
3. Resolve the copy of Beacon of Immortality, doubling your life total.
4. Sage of Hours triggers, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the life you gained.
5. Activate Sage of Hours by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take at least one extra turn after this one.
6. Repeat each turn.

This clever loop turns explosive life gain into an endless sequence of extra turns by chaining together combat and triggered abilities. The engine relies on Spellbinder imprinting Beacon of Immortality, allowing you to cast the spell for free every time the equipped creature connects with an opponent. When that copy resolves, Sunbond converts your massive life gain into an avalanche of +1/+1 counters placed directly onto Sage of Hours. Finally, you cash in those counters by activating Sage of Hours's ability, taking an extra turn so you can repeat the whole process and lock the game down.
