How it works
- Deal combat damage to an opponent using the creature that has Spellbinder attached.
- Spellbinder triggers, casting a copy of Teferi's Protection without paying its mana cost.
- Resolve the copy of Teferi's Protection, phasing out all permanents you control and causing you to have protection from everything and preventing your life total from changing until your next turn.
- Repeat during each of your turns.
This clever loop locks opponents out of interacting with you on every single one of their turns by weaponizing the imprint mechanic. By attaching Spellbinder to an attacking creature, you can reliably trigger its ability on combat damage to repeatedly cast Teferi's Protection for free from exile. Because Teferi's Protection makes all your permanents phase out and grants you absolute protection and a static life total shield until your next turn, you become entirely untouchable while still retaining your battlefield presence to repeat the cycle anew.
