How it works

1. Cast Volcano Hellion by paying 2.
2. When Volcano Hellion enters, it triggers, dealing an arbitarily large amount of damage to you and a creature. The damage that would be dealt to you is dealt to Truefire Captain instead due to Pariah's Shield.
3. Truefire Captain triggers, dealing an arbitrarily large amount of damage to an applicable target.

This fiery loop relies on setting up a self-sustaining redirection chain that converts your own life total into a lethal weapon. By equipping Truefire Captain with Pariah's Shield, any damage you would take is instead funneled directly into the Captain. When you drop Volcano Hellion onto the battlefield, its enters-the-battlefield trigger allows you to choose an arbitrarily large amount of damage to deal to yourself; thanks to the Shield, that massive blow hits the Captain instead. Truefire Captain then triggers from taking that damage, instantly turning around and blasting your opponent for the exact same colossal amount to win the game.
