How it works

This clever three-card sequence hinges on converting your opponent's life total into a fragile number before obliterating the battlefield. You begin by using Tree of Perdition's tap ability to swap an opponent's life total with its current toughness, dropping them down to a precarious 13 life. From there, you cast Blasphemous Act, which becomes remarkably cheap to cast with creatures populating the board, dealing 13 damage to every creature in play. That sweeping damage naturally includes your own Truefire Captain, whose built-in trigger reacts to being dealt damage by instantly redirecting that exact 13 damage straight to your targeted opponent, finishing them off on the spot.
