How it works

1. Activate Tree of Perdition, exchanging target opponent's life total with Tree of Perdition's toughness.
2. Cast Shivan Meteor for 3, dealing thirteen damage to Truefire Captain.
3. Truefire Captain triggers, dealing 20 damage to target opponent.

This clever burn sequence sets up a devastating one-shot kill by weaponizing Truefire Captain's damage-reflection trigger against an opponent's suddenly fragile state. First, you tap Tree of Perdition to swap an opponent's life total with its massive thirteen-toughness body, dropping them to a precarious 13 life. Then, you point Shivan Meteor directly at your own Truefire Captain, dealing a massive thirteen damage to it. Because Truefire Captain triggers whenever it is dealt damage and redirects that exact amount to target player, it effortlessly finishes off the opponent by dealing 20 damage straight to their face.
