How it works

1. Activate Marath by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, putting two +1/+1 counters on Marath.
2. Activate Marath by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Elemental creature token.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Elemental, adding CC.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant loop relies on Conclave Mentor to act as a permanent multiplier, ensuring that every time Marath, Will of the Wild uses its own counters to fund its abilities, the net return on investment actually grows your power. By spending a counter and mana to pump Marath, the Mentor turns that single removed counter into two fresh ones, leaving you with surplus counters to convert into 1/1 Elemental tokens. Ashnod's Altar then capitalizes on those generated tokens by sacrificing them for raw colorless mana, which in turn fuels the continuous activation costs of Marath, Will of the Wild to keep the cycle spinning infinitely.
