How it works

1. Activate Marath by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Elemental creature token.
2. Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing the Elemental, adding .
3. When the Elemental dies, Death's Presence triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Marath.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Marath, Will of the Wild to seed the battlefield, spending a single counter and one mana to spin off a 1/1 Elemental token. That token is immediately fed to Thermopod, whose sacrifice ability turns the creature into red mana while simultaneously triggering Death's Presence. Because the sacrificed token's power was 1, Death's Presence places a brand-new +1/+1 counter right back onto Marath, fueling the exact mana and counter requirements needed to repeat the cycle infinitely.
