How it works

1. Activate Marath by paying 1, creating a 1/1 Elemental token.
2. Cathars' Crusade triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter to all creatures you control.
3. If necessary, activate Cryptic Trilobite by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding CC that can only be spent to activate abilities.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around Marath, Will of the Wild feeding its own engine by turning mana and counters into a growing army. Each time Marath spends mana to create a 1/1 Elemental token, Cathars' Crusade triggers to pump every creature you control with fresh +1/+1 counters. Meanwhile, Cryptic Trilobite provides the engine's monetary fuel by turning those counters into the exact colorless mana needed to keep paying for Marath's ability.
