How it works

1. Draw a card.
2. The Locust God triggers, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token with flying and haste.
3. The Insect enters the battlefield and dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness.
4. Species Specialist triggers, causing you to draw a card.
5. Repeat.

This brilliant engine turns a simple draw into a self-sustaining storm by leveraging Species Specialist, which you set to "Insect" as it enters the battlefield. With Heartless Summoning on the board trimming creature stats, the 1/1 Insect tokens created by The Locust God immediately perish from having zero toughness as soon as they hit the battlefield. That tragic little death cycle triggers Species Specialist to draw you another card, which in turn feeds right back into The Locust God's triggered ability to spin the wheel all over again.
