How it works

1. Activate Mindless Automaton's first ability by paying 1 and discarding a card, putting two +1/+1 counters on it.
2. Activate Mindless Automaton's second ability by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to draw a card.
3. The Locust God triggers, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token with flying and haste.
4. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing an Insect, adding CC.
5. Repeat.

This intricate loop is supercharged by Shang-Chi, Martial Mentor, whose replacement effect doubles the counters placed on Mindless Automaton so that its self-pumping ability yields a surplus of resources rather than a deficit. With that engine humming, Mindless Automaton can continuously filter cards and convert them into draws, which in turn triggers The Locust God to flood the board with hasty flying Insect tokens. Thermopod then steps in as the sacrifice outlet, converting those fresh tokens into red mana to pay for Mindless Automaton's activation costs and keeping the entire cycle infinitely self-sustaining.
