How it works

1. Activate Yawgmoth's first ability by paying 1 life and sacrificing another creature.
2. When the creature dies, Proper Burial triggers, causing you to gain life equal to the sacrificed creature's toughness.
3. Resolve the Yawgmoth ability, causing you to draw a card and allowing you to put a -1/-1 counter on up to one creature.
4. The Locust God triggers, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token with flying and haste.
5. Repeat.

This clever engine uses Yawgmoth, Thran Physician as the sacrifice outlet and card draw engine, paying 1 life and sacrificing a creature to feed his ability. Each time that creature hits the graveyard, Proper Burial steps in to recover your investment by gaining you life equal to its toughness, offsetting Yawgmoth's life cost. Meanwhile, every card drawn off the activation prompts The Locust God to spawn a hasty 1/1 Insect token right back onto the battlefield, providing a fresh body to feed back into Yawgmoth's sacrifice loop.
