How it works

  1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing another creature.
  2. When the creature dies, Fleshtaker triggers, causing you to gain 1 life and scry 1.
  3. Matoya triggers, causing you to draw a card.
  4. The Locust God triggers, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token with flying and haste.
  5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
  6. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns a single sacrifice into a self-sustaining engine by tying together the persistent triggers of your board. When you sacrifice a creature to Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, Fleshtaker notices the death to grant you life and a scry, which instantly triggers Matoya, Archon Elder to draw you a card. That new card draw wakes up The Locust God to flood the board with flying Insect tokens, providing you with fresh fodder to keep feeding Shilgengar, Sire of Famine.
