How it works

1. Declare Magus of the Candelabra as an attacker.
2. Activate Maze of Ith by tapping it, untapping Magus of the Candelabra.
3. Activate the land with Market Festival attached by tapping it, adding at least 1.
4. Market Festival triggers, adding two mana of any color(s).
5. Activate Magus of the Candelabra by paying 2 and tapping it, untapping Maze of Ith and the land with Market Festival attached.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns the defensive utility of Maze of Ith into a mana engine by utilizing the combat phase to untap Magus of the Candelabra without suffering any combat damage. Because Market Festival dramatically multiplies your land's output whenever it is tapped for mana, a single activation more than pays for the cost to untap both the land and Maze of Ith.
