How it works

1. Cast the Dinosaur in your hand by paying its mana cost. It will enter with a coin counter due to Blue.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Dinosaur.
3. When the Dinosaur dies, Athreos's second ability triggers, returning the Dinosaur from your graveyard to the battlefield. It will enter with a coin counter due to Blue.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This loop turns Ashnod's Altar into an endless engine by exploiting the persistent insurance policy granted by Athreos, Shroud-Veiled. Every time you feed a creature to the Altar, Athreos's triggered ability ensures it immediately returns to the battlefield rather than staying in the graveyard. Meanwhile, Blue, Loyal Raptor acts as the crucial linchpin for this repetition, copying the coin counter onto the returning dinosaur so that Athreos will continue to claim it upon subsequent sacrifices.
