How it works

1. Activate Sydri's first ability by paying , making Basalt Monolith a 3/3 artifact creature until end of turn.
2. Activate Basalt Monolith's first ability by tapping it, adding CCC.
3. Activate Basalt Monolith's last ability by paying 1, untapping it.
4. Repeat.

By animating Basalt Monolith into a creature using Sydri, Galvanic Genius, you open the door for Biomancer's Familiar to step in and alter the math of the battlefield. Because the Familiar reduces the cost of creature activated abilities by {2}—though not below one mana—Basalt Monolith's untap ability now costs a single generic mana to activate instead of three. Since tapping the Monolith generates three colorless mana, you can infinitely cycle between tapping it for mana and paying that reduced untap cost, leaving you with an endless reservoir of colorless mana to power the rest of your strategy.
