Infinite landfall triggers

How it works

  1. Create a nonlegendary copy of Kodama of the East Tree using Quantum Misalignment (this may involve additional steps depending on the card used).
  2. Play Oboro, Palace in the Clouds.
  3. When Oboro, Palace in the Clouds enters, both Kodama of the East Trees and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds trigger.
  4. Resolve the nonlegendary Kodama of the East Tree trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
  5. Resolve the Oboro, Palace in the Clouds trigger, returning it to your hand.
  6. Resolve the legendary Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting Oboro, Palace in the Clouds onto the battlefield.
  7. The nonlegendary Kodama of the East Tree and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds trigger.
  8. Resolve the Oboro, Palace in the Clouds trigger, returning it to your hand.
  9. Resolve the nonlegendary Kodama of the East Tree's trigger, putting Oboro, Palace in the Clouds onto the battlefield.
  10. The legendary Kodama of the East Tree and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds trigger.
  11. Repeat from step 5.

This clever loop gets its engine running by duplicating Kodama of the East Tree with Quantum Misalignment, bypassing the legend rule to give you two triggers whenever a permanent enters. Once you have this double-Kodama setup, playing Oboro, Palace in the Clouds triggers both spirits alongside its own land entry. By using one Kodama trigger to drop Oboro back onto the battlefield and paying to bounce it right back to your hand using Oboro's own activated ability, you create a self-sustaining cascade of triggers that generates infinite landfall.
