How it works
- Cast Endless Swarm by paying 5.
- Eye of the Storm and Hive Mind trigger.
- Resolve the Eye of the Storm trigger, exiling Endless Swarm, and then copying each instant and sorcery card exiled with Eye of the Storm, and allowing you to cast the copies without paying their mana costs.
- Choose not to cast the copy of Endless Swarm as permitted by Eye of the Storm.
- Resolve the Hive Mind trigger from step 2, causing each opponent to copy Endless Swarm.
- Resolve the first opponent's copy of Endless Swarm, causing them to create a 1/1 Snake creature token for each card in their hand, and then be unable to cast spells for the rest of the game.
- The Snakes enter the battlefield and die as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness.
- Repeat from step 6 for each remaining Endless Swarm copy.
- At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, their copy of Endless Swarm triggers, copying itself.
- Resolve the copy of Endless Swarm, causing the opponent to create a 1/1 Snake creature token for each card in their hand.
- The Snakes enter the battlefield and die as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness.
- Repeat from step 9.
This twisted loop turns your opponents' own spells against them by casting Endless Swarm to trigger both Hive Mind and Eye of the Storm, immediately locking them out of the game through the devastating restriction of the epic ability. While Eye of the Storm exiles the original sorcery, Hive Mind forces every opponent to copy it, instantly handing them their own uncastable epic copies that prevent them from ever playing another spell. Meanwhile, the presence of Crovax, Ascendant Hero is the dark secret holding the whole executioner's block together: his static ability grants nonwhite creatures -1/-1, ensuring that every single 1/1 Snake token your opponents are forced to create dies instantly as a state-based action the moment it hits the battlefield.
