How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Elenda, adding W/B.
2. When Elenda dies, its second ability triggers, creating a number of 1/1 Vampire creature tokens equal to Elenda's power.
3. Cast Elenda from your graveyard by paying 2.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar three times by sacrificing three Vampires, adding 2W/B.
5. When the Vampires die, Elenda's first ability triggers three times, putting three +1/+1 counters on it.
6. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on Haakon, Stromgald Scourge to bypass normal zone restrictions, allowing you to repeatedly cast Elenda, the Dusk Rose directly from your graveyard as a Knight spell. Once Elenda is on the battlefield, Phyrexian Altar acts as the engine that both sacrifices her to trigger her token-creation ability and converts those resulting Vampire tokens back into the mana needed to recast her. Each iteration leaves Elenda bigger due to her own accumulated +1/+1 counters, compounding the number of tokens she yields upon death and fueling an infinite engine of sacrifices and colored mana.
