How it works
- Activate Vorel of the Hull Clade by paying and tapping it, doubling the number of counters on Nissa.
- Activate Nissa by removing twelve loyalty counters from it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- Repeat each turn.
This loop transforms Nissa, Ascended Animist into a permanent engine for infinite turns by taking full advantage of the type-changing magic of Encroaching Mycosynth. Because Encroaching Mycosynth turns Nissa into an artifact alongside her planeswalker type, she becomes a valid target for Vorel of the Hull Clade's doubling ability, allowing you to rapidly inflate her loyalty counters. With Ichormoon Gauntlet present, planeswalkers gain a free proliferation ability and, crucially, noncreature spells trigger additional counter growth to help accelerate your resource count. Once Nissa reaches the necessary threshold, you can activate her ultimate ability to take an extra turn after this one, repeating the entire sequence indefinitely for a total lock on the game.
