How it works

  1. Declare two creatures you control as attackers, attacking two different opponents.
  2. Holding priority, activate Nemesis Phoenix by paying 2R mana, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped and attacking.
  3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Nemesis Phoenix, adding CC.
  4. When Nemesis Phoenix dies, Crime Novelist triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it and adding R mana.
  5. Repeat from step 2.
