How it works

1. Activate Fain's third ability by tapping it and sacrificing an creature, which is an artifact due to Encroaching Mycosynth.
2. When the creature dies, Fain triggers, untapping itself.
3. Resolve the Fain ability from step 1, creating a 2/1 Inkling creature token that is an artifact due to Encroaching Mycosynth.
4. Repeat.

This engine hinges on the clever synergy between Fain, the Broker and Thornbite Staff, turning Fain's sacrifice outlet into a self-sustaining loop. Encroaching Mycosynth does the heavy lifting of turning every nonland permanent—including Fain, the Inkling tokens, and any random creature you feed to the machine—into an artifact, meaning Fain can sacrifice creatures to make Inklings and then immediately sacrifice those Inklings to fuel its other abilities. Once Fain is equipped with Thornbite Staff, every death triggers the Staff to automatically untap Fain, letting you tap it again to repeat the sacrifice indefinitely.
