How it works

1. Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, Lethal Vapors triggers, destroying that creature.
2. Because Stony Silence prevents Lethal Vapors's activated ability from being activated, it cannot be destroyed due to its ability.

This clever lockdown relies on turning Lethal Vapors into an artifact via Encroaching Mycosynth, which then allows Stony Silence to completely neuter the enchantment's self-destruction and turn-skipping activation. Because the activated ability can no longer be used, nobody can clear away the Lethal Vapors, leaving its triggered ability permanently active to instantly destroy every single creature the moment it enters the battlefield.
