How it works

  1. Cast Seething Anger with buyback by paying R mana. Storm-Kiln Artist, Blood Funnel and Hermes trigger.
  2. Resolve the Storm-Kiln Artist trigger, creating a Treasure token.
  3. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding R mana.
  4. Resolve the Hermes trigger, creating a creature token.
  5. Resolve the Blood Funnel trigger, causing you to sacrifice the creature token.
  6. Resolve the Seething Anger spell.
  7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Seething Anger into a self-sustaining engine by exploiting the interplay between cost reduction and token generation. Thanks to Blood Funnel and Memory Crystal working together, the buyback cost of Seething Anger is reduced to just {R}, while Blood Funnel's drawback is neatly bypassed by the fodder produced on the stack: every time you cast the spell, Hermes, Overseer of Elpis creates a Bird token just in time to be sacrificed to Blood Funnel's counter-trigger. Meanwhile, Storm-Kiln Artist triggers off casting the instant to spawn a Treasure token, which you immediately crack for the {R} mana needed to cast Seething Anger all over again.
