How it works

1. Activate Lord of the Forsaken by paying life.
2. Repeat step 1 as desired.
3. Activate Rowan by tapping it, reducing the cost of all black and/or red spells you cast this turn.
4. Cast Exsanguinate, choosing for X to equal the amount of life you've lost this turn, but paying a total of due to Rowan.
5. Resolve Exsanguinate, causing each opponent to lose X life, and you to gain life equal to the life lost this way.

This clever endgame loop turns self-inflicted damage into an overwhelming victory by weaving together life-manipulation and massive cost reduction. You begin by paying life repeatedly into Lord of the Forsaken's mana ability, which not only generates the colorless mana you need but also fuels Rowan, Scion of War's tap ability to drastically shrink future black and red spell costs based on that exact total of lost life. With the discount locked in, you cast Exsanguinate for a massive value of X while only having to pay a minimal mana investment. Resolving the spell drains the table dry while simultaneously flooding you back to safety with near-infinite lifegain, completing a devastating sweep of the game.
