How it works

1. Activate Rowan by tapping it.
2. Cast Acererak by paying .
3. When Acererak enters, its first ability triggers.
4. Holding priority, activate Relic of Legends' second ability by tapping Acererak, adding .
5. Resolve the Acererak trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand, and venturing into Lost Mine of Phandelver.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This ingenious loop relies on Acererak the Archlich’s continuous return to your hand upon entering the battlefield when you haven't completed the Tomb of Annihilation, allowing you to choose Lost Mine of Phandelver instead to endlessly cycle through its rooms. Relic of Legends plays a vital supporting role by turning Acererak's legendary status into a mana-generating engine, tapping the lich to pay for its own recurrent casting costs. Meanwhile, Rowan, Scion of War can be tapped beforehand to drastically reduce the mana required to cast spells based on life lost, helping to offset costs or weave this engine into an even larger storm turn.
