How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing another creature.
2. When the creature dies, Teysa triggers, creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token that is black due to Darkest Hour.
3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop transforms the relentless gloom of Darkest Hour into an endless stream of sacrifice fodder, as every creature on the battlefield instantly becomes black and thus qualifies for Teysa, Orzhov Scion's resurrection trigger. When you feed a creature to Altar of Dementia, its death doesn't just mill your opponent; it immediately replaces itself with a 1/1 Spirit creature token thanks to Teysa's second ability. Because that new token is also painted black by Darkest Hour, sacrificing it triggers the exact same loop all over again to mill your opponent out completely.
