How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Dogmeat, adding .
2. When Dogmeat dies, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning Dogmeat to the battlefield from your graveyard.
3. When Dogmeat enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, causing you to mill five cards and return Gift of Immortality to your hand from your graveyard.
4. Cast Gift of Immortality by paying due to Mana Matrix, attaching it to Dogmeat.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop centers on sacrificing Dogmeat, Ever Loyal to Phyrexian Altar, generating the mana needed to keep the engine moving while triggering Gift of Immortality's resurrection loop. Every time Dogmeat returns to the battlefield, its enter-the-battlefield ability mills your library and conveniently plucks Gift of Immortality right back out of your graveyard. Thanks to Mana Matrix lowering the enchantment's cost, recasting Gift of Immortality requires only the single white mana provided by the Altar, sealing an infinite cycle of deaths, sacrifices, and self-mill.
