How it works

1. Activate Sage of Hours by paying 1, blinking itself and causing it to enter the battlefield with five or more +1/+1 counters on it due to Bloodspore Thrinax.
2. When Sage of Hours enters the battlefield, Deadeye Navigator's soulbond ability triggers, repairing Deadeye Navigator and Sage of Hours.
3. Activate Sage of Hours by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take at least one extra turn after this one.
4. Repeat each turn.

This fascinating loop turns the battlefield into a temporal engine by repeatedly resetting Sage of Hours with the help of Deadeye Navigator. The linchpin of the strategy is Bloodspore Thrinax, whose passive devour and counter-distribution abilities ensure that Sage of Hours always re-enters the battlefield with five or more +1/+1 counters already piled upon it. You simply use the blink ability granted by Deadeye Navigator to exile and return Sage of Hours, re-triggering soulbond each time while letting Bloodspore Thrinax instantly restock the counters needed to cash them in for infinite extra turns.
