How it works

  1. Cast What Must Be Done by paying 3W manaW mana, targeting any historic permanent card in your graveyard.
  2. Holding priority, cast Naru Meha by paying 2U manaU mana.
  3. When Naru Meha enters the battlefield, it triggers, targeting What Must Be Done.
  4. Holding priority, activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Naru Meha
  5. Resolve the Naru Meha trigger, copying What Must Be Done, targeting Naru Meha.
  6. Resolve the copy of What Must Be Done, returning Naru Meha from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it.
  7. Repeat from step 3.

This intricate loop relies on looping Naru Meha, Master Wizard's entry trigger to perpetually copy What Must Be Done, returning Naru Meha to the battlefield each iteration. To keep this engine running endlessly, Shilgengar, Sire of Famine acts as the sacrifice outlet, converting Naru Meha into a Blood token each cycle and feeding the sacrifice-heavy loop. Because What Must Be Done targets any historic permanent card in your graveyard, Naru Meha qualifies and conveniently brings herself right back to repeat the entire process.
