How it works

1. Activate the creature by tapping it, dealing damage to an opponent's creature.
2. The opponent's creature dies due to deathtouch, triggering the second ability granted by Thornbite Staff, untapping your creature.
3. Repeat until all opponents' creatures die.
4. Repeat each time a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control.

This lethal loop turns any creature into a one-man firing squad by granting it the activated ability of Heavy Arbalest alongside the static deathtouch granted through Rune of Mortality. Because the creature uses the ranged tap ability to ping targets, Rune of Mortality ensures that even a single point of damage is instantly fatal to anything it hits. When that creature dies, Thornbite Staff’s triggered ability immediately untaps your shooter, letting you repeat the devastation over and over until the opponent's entire board is wiped clean.
