How it works

1. Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Thran Vigil triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Lesser Masticore.
4. Resolve the Goblin Bombardment ability.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns a persistent mechanical quirk into a lethal engine, using Goblin Bombardment as the outlet to hurl your sacrificial fodder directly at any target. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability normally brings it back hindered by a -1/-1 counter, but Thran Vigil steps in to effortlessly neutralize that drawback by placing a +1/-1 counter on it the moment it leaves your graveyard. Because +1/-1 and -1/-1 counters actively annihilate each other upon placement, Lesser Masticore returns to pristine condition over and over again, ready to be sacrificed anew.
