How it works

1. Activate Arcbound Ravager by sacrificing Lesser Masticore
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Lesser Masticore enters, Stalwart Successor triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Lesser Masticore
4. Resolve the Arcbound Ravager ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Lesser Masticore into an immortal engine by turning its greatest weakness into a persistent advantage. Whenever Lesser Masticore hits the graveyard, its persist mechanic would normally keep it locked down with a -1/+1 counter, but Stalwart Successor cleverly steps in to cancel that out by granting a fresh +1/+1 counter upon its return, neutralizing the -1/-1 counter and resetting the creature. Meanwhile, Arcbound Ravager provides a convenient sacrifice outlet that triggers the whole cycle while accumulating an ever-growing pile of +1/+1 counters.
