How it works

1. Activate Megatog by sacrificing Lesser Masticore
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Lesser Masticore enters, Sigil Captain triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Lesser Masticore
4. Resolve the Megatog ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever setup turns a mechanical counterplay into a monstrous loop by letting Megatog sacrifice Lesser Masticore for a massive, temporary power boost. While Lesser Masticore's persist ability would normally bring it back with a hindering -1/+1 counter that shuts down further resurrections, Sigil Captain steps in with its brilliant static anthem effect. Because the creature re-enters as a 1/1, Sigil Captain immediately triggers to place two +1/+1 counters on it, which instantly annihilates the -1/-1 counter through state-based actions and leaves the Masticore pristine and ready to be fed to the beast all over again.
