How it works

1. Activate Lithatog by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Lesser Masticore enters, Mm'menon triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Lesser Masticore.
4. Resolve the Lithatog ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Lithatog into an infinitely massive threat by using its artifact-sacrificing appetite to feed the cycle, consuming Lesser Masticore over and over. Each time Lesser Masticore hits the graveyard, its persist mechanic would normally leave it permanently handicapped by a -1/-1 counter, but Mm'menon, Uthros Exile steps in with a crucial +1/+1 counter whenever an artifact enters the battlefield. These opposing counters lovingly cancel each other out upon Lesser Masticore's return, resetting the creature's health so it can be sacrificed to Lithatog all over again.
