How it works

1. Activate Atog by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it due to Curator Beastie.
3. Resolve the Atog ability, giving it +2/+2 until end of turn.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Lesser Masticore and Atog to feed an endless cycle of sacrifices, where Atog devours the mechanical hound for a permanent power boost. Normally, persist would bring Lesser Masticore back with a debilitating -1/-1 counter, but Curator Beastie steps in with its passive anthem to ensure the creature instead enters with two additional +1/+1 counters, instantly neutralizing the persist counter and resetting the whole loop. Because Curator Beastie also makes colorless creatures enter with those crucial counters, any artifact creature caught in the crossfire benefits, allowing Atog to endlessly grow to an infinite size while generating infinite sacrifices and triggers.
