How it works

1. Cast Mirror Image by paying 0, choosing to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Barrin.

4. When Barrin enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, returning Mirror Image from the battlefield to your hand.
5. Repeat.

Aluren acts as the ultimate enabler here, allowing you to cast your low-to-the-ground creatures entirely for free at instant speed. The loop itself is forged by casting Mirror Image as a copy of Barrin, Tolarian Archmage, which immediately uses its entrance trigger to bounce the original Barrin back to your hand. You then redeploy Barrin for zero mana courtesy of Aluren, whose trigger now sends the copy of Mirror Image packing, setting up a perpetual self-sustaining cycle of entrances and exits.
