How it works

1. Activate Grim Poppet by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Mirror Image.
2. Nest of Scarabs triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Mirror Image by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Nest of Scarabs triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the back-and-forth movement of -1/-1 counters into an engine of endless swarms. By having Mirror Image enter as a copy of Grim Poppet, you create a symmetrical pair of threats that can continuously strip counters from one another and pass them right back.
