How it works
- Cast The Master either from your hand or from the command zone by paying plus command tax, if applicable, choosing to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Ruthless Technomancer.
- When The Master enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to sacrifice Mirror Image and create at least two Treasure tokens.
- Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
- Activate The Master by paying and sacrificing a Treasure, returning Mirror Image from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of The Master, which causes the Mirror Image to be a copy of Ruthless Technomancer.
- When Mirror Image enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to sacrifice The Master and create two Treasure tokens.
- Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
- Activate Mirror Image by paying and sacrificing a Treasure, returning The Master from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Ruthless Technomancer.
- Repeat from step 2.
This brilliant loop relies on a clever recursion engine made possible by Training Grounds, which dramatically slashes the activation cost of Ruthless Technomancer's resurrection ability so you can repeatedly cycle through your graveyard. You start by casting The Master, Formed Anew and letting it enter as a copy of Ruthless Technomancer, using its entry trigger to sacrifice Mirror Image for a stash of Treasure tokens. From there, you tap those Treasures for mana to fund the Technomancer-copied ability—reduced to just one mana thanks to Training Grounds—to pull Mirror Image right back out as a fresh copy of The Master. By alternating back and forth between the two creatures as they constantly sacrifice one another to their own entry triggers, you effortlessly generate an endless loop of sacrifices and deaths.
