How it works

1. Cast Mirror Image by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
2. Put Mirror Image into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. Mirror Image's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
4. Resolve Mirror Image's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
5. Resolve Mirror Image's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop uses the legend rule to repeatedly sacrifice a cloned enchantment, turning the battlefield into a recursive engine of destruction. By casting Mirror Image as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up, state-based actions immediately place one into the graveyard, which triggers the original Rakdos Joins Up alongside the copy's own abilities to deal lethal damage to an opponent. While Starfield of Nyx isn't strictly necessary for the loop itself to fire, its upkeep ability provides an alternative path to recur your pieces, and its static animation can even turn your enchantments into creatures once you have five or more in play.
