How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Mirror Image.
2. When Mirror Image dies, its last ability from Cavalier of Night triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Cavalier of Night.
3. When Mirror Image enters the battlefield, its first triggered ability from Cavalier of Night triggers; choose not to sacrifice a creature.
4. Resolve the Shilgengar ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This loop transforms Shilgengar, Sire of Famine into an engine of continuous sacrifice by feeding it a clever clone. You use Shilgengar's ability to sacrifice Mirror Image, which enters the battlefield as a copy of Cavalier of Night thanks to its own copy effect. Because that clone dies, its adopted death trigger lets it reach into the graveyard and return itself directly to the battlefield as a fresh Cavalier of Night. Every iteration of this cycle lets Shilgengar harvest the sacrificed clone to generate Blood tokens indefinitely, all while leveraging the original Cavalier of Night's presence to keep the copying chain alive.
