How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Ashcloud Phoenix.
2. When Ashcloud Phoenix dies, its first ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield face-down.
3. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability, causing you to scry 1.
4. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Ashcloud Phoenix.
5. Yarus' second ability triggers, returning Ashcloud Phoenix from your graveyard to the battlefield face down, and then turning it face up.
6. Ashcloud Phoenix's second ability triggers, dealing 2 damage to each player.
7. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability, causing you to scry 1.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the cycle of life and death into a blazing engine of destruction by leveraging overlapping triggers to cheat the morph mechanic. When you sacrifice Ashcloud Phoenix to Viscera Seer, both its own demise and the watchful presence of Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods can catch the bird in the graveyard and bounce it right back to the battlefield face down. Because Yarus immediately turns it face up, you repeatedly trigger the Phoenix's fiery burst of damage to each player while filtering your library with endless scry 1s.
