How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Ashcloud Phoenix, adding .
2. When Ashcloud Phoenix dies, it triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield face-down.
3. Activate Ixidor by paying , turning Ashcloud Phoenix face up.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Ashcloud Phoenix into an infinite-value engine by continuously cycling it between the graveyard, the battlefield, and a face-up state. Phyrexian Altar acts as our sacrifice outlet, turning the Phoenix into the necessary mana while fueling your death and sacrifice triggers, while Training Grounds heavily discounts Ixidor, Reality Sculptor's ability so you can turn the Phoenix face up for a single blue mana. Once back on the battlefield face-down courtesy of the Phoenix's own death trigger, Ixidor, Reality Sculptor finishes the loop by flipping it back face up—which also passively benefits from Ixidor's global buff granting face-down creatures +1/+1—allowing you to sacrifice it right back to the Altar to repeat the entire cycle endlessly.
